Curved handle spoon carving template
An eating spoon whose handle sweeps sideways in one long curve, as if the wind had caught it. The bowl leans towards your mouth, so your wrist can stay relaxed, and a strong crank and S-curve give it a lively side view too. This version is for right-handed use.
The PDFs print dark lines on white paper: the A4 one in millimetres, the US Letter one in inches. Open the design in the designer to change the size or shape first. The downloaded SVG opens again in the designer with Open.

Carving tips
Look for a branch that already curves sideways, so the grain runs along the whole sweep: from a straight board, the short grain at the neck breaks easily. Because of the curve it needs a wide blank. Trace the top view first, then the side view.
Cut out the top view and trace it on the blank with the grain running along the spoon, as the grain arrow shows. Saw the outline, then draw the side view on the side of the blank for the depth and crank, and carve away everything outside the lines. Read more in How it works.
