Asymmetric cooking spoon carving template
A long cooking spoon with a strongly slanted front edge that follows the curve of a pot as you stir, and a shallow bowl for tasting. The sturdy handle has an angled end and a hole to hang it by the stove. This version is for right-handed cooks.
The PDFs print dark lines on white paper: the A4 one in millimetres, the US Letter one in inches. Open the design in the designer to change the size or shape first. The downloaded SVG opens again in the designer with Open.

It fits on A4 at full size. The US Letter PDF and the designer shorten it to 237 mm (9.3 in), the longest that fits. Print at 100% scale with no margins, then check the scale bar on the sheet with a ruler.
Carving tips
Stir with the slanted edge flat against the pot and it keeps food from sticking to the bottom. Hardwoods such as beech, maple or cherry stand up best to the heat and the scraping. Left-handed? Switch the symmetry in the designer and the template mirrors.
Cut out the top view and trace it on the blank with the grain running along the spoon, as the grain arrow shows. Saw the outline, then draw the side view on the side of the blank for the depth and crank, and carve away everything outside the lines. Read more in How it works.
