Serving spoon carving template
A large serving spoon in the Scandinavian tradition (a slev is Swedish for ladle or serving spoon). A long, deep bowl and an elegant S-curved handle with a hanging hole make it the centrepiece of a table.
The “Nordic Slev” template on A4, at full size: top view, side view, grain direction and a scale check to measure after printing.
Open it in the designer to change the size or shape, switch to inches or US Letter, and print it or save it as a PDF. The downloaded SVG opens again in the designer with Open.

Carving tips
At over 25 cm it needs a long, straight-grained blank: birch is the classic choice. Make the handle slender but keep the neck strong, as that's where a big spoon takes the most strain.
Cut out the top view and trace it on the blank with the grain running along the spoon, as the grain arrow shows. Saw the outline, then draw the side view on the side of the blank for the depth and crank, and carve away everything outside the lines. Read more in How it works.
