Kasha porridge spoon carving template
A porridge spoon with a big, deep, round bowl and a short handle, named after the buckwheat porridge (kasha) it's made for. A strong crank lifts the bowl so it scoops cleanly from a deep bowl.
The “Kasha Spoon” template on A4, at full size: top view, side view, grain direction and a scale check to measure after printing.

Carving tips
The deep bowl needs a thick blank, so it's a good shape for a curved branch or a crook, where the grain follows the crank. A hook knife makes hollowing a deep bowl like this much easier.
Cut out the top view and trace it on the blank with the grain running along the spoon, as the grain arrow shows. Saw the outline, then draw the side view on the side of the blank for the depth and crank, and carve away everything outside the lines. Read more in How it works.
