Carving tips
Keep everything round and smooth, without sharp edges, and leave the neck thick: children are hard on their spoons. Finish it with a food-safe oil such as raw linseed or walnut oil, or leave it unfinished.
Cut out the top view and trace it on the blank with the grain running along the spoon, as the grain arrow shows. Saw the outline, then draw the side view on the side of the blank for the depth and crank, and carve away everything outside the lines. Read more in How it works.
